This was a very surprising find! It was Airbnb that was around $50 AUD a night for a two bedroom apartment – hands down the most valuable place we stayed on our Eurotrip.
It was incredible, designed by architect Ricardo Bofill in the 60’s. The place is a maze, and every turn presents a fresh contrast of colours and corners.
EAT
Some of the best meals we had in Calpe were spreads we threw together ourselves - stock up at LIDL (supermarket) that has all the snacks and wine you need to survive and DIY.
There’s plenty of pizza and tapas restaurants within walking distance – just follow the locals and avoid the sunburnt tourists.
DO
If you’re interested in sitting by the pool, an afternoon bottle of rose, siestas and not much else... this is the place for you.
Each day started with a morning walk, in search of caffeine and a morning dip in the sea, followed by reading a book by the pool with rose and cheese.
PACK
It's hot - I wore a multitude of linen shirts and dresses the entire time I was in Calpe.
A great book , a camera and sunscreen.
