SLEEP
We stayed in an AirBnb in Trastevere which was perfectly sized and such great value for the time. There were so many great options in Rome, they really have some good taste when it comes to furniture and interiors.
The suburb has a cool, down to earth feeling about it. So many great little cobble streets with amazing vines hanging from every corner.
It feels much more local and less tourist driven than over the other side of the river where some of the big attractions are.
EAT
Roscioli’s (Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina) is an absolute must.

They also have a great deli/bakery/pizza place called Antico Forno Roscioli where I had the best potato Roman style pizza of my existence.
If you’re looking for some great natural wines, Latteria Trastevere has some really interesting local wines and a really amazing food menu to match. Great for just drinks or a full meal.
Amazing pizza in the area is definitely living at Ai Marmi. It’s really casual and fast paced, but a cool experience.

For possibly one of the most magical pastries you’ll have, head to Panetteria Romana e Spaccio di Paste for their Sfogliatella, also called Lobster Tail, filled with pistachio cream. You buy by the gram, super cheap, but so life changing!
DO
The Roman Forum is an absolute must, it’s such a magical place to walk around for hours (yes it takes hours) and soak up all the ancient feelings.
Rome is so full of amazing sites and all the famous ones really live up to the hype. Make time to see the Colosseum, Villa Borghese and Spanish Steps.
The Pantheon and Trevi Fountain in particular really live up to the hype.
If you’ve had your fill of walking for a bit, Ciampini Roma is a must for gelato and granitia. Both the sour cherry gelato and almond granita are huge winners.

You can sit and chill with a Campari Spritz with your treats!
SHOP
Second Chance is a great vintage store with some cool finds in Trastevere. There are also some more vintage stores all along Via del Governo Vecchio.

Grab yourself some Koh-I-Noor brushes and toothbrushes from any Profumerie Limoni, really amazing quality and hard to find out of Italy.
There is good boutique shopping around the Spanish Steps.
Versace, Pucci and all the Italian luxury brand boutiques are so great, Marni in particular is a really cool fit out.
PACK
We were in a few places around Italy, but luckily there was so much great warm weather constantly the packing was pretty easy.

Lots of loose shirts, bags trousers and shorts teamed with a sneaker or two and sandals, and you’re cooking with gas.
